1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using mediaRelic ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
mediaRelic is a physical media collection tracking application that allows users to catalog their movie disc collections, manage wishlists, and access related features. The Service is available at mediarelic.com.
3. Accounts
You must create an account to use mediaRelic. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must provide a valid email address and keep your account information accurate.
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
4. Free and Premium Plans
Free plan
The free plan allows you to track up to 50 discs and access core features. No payment is required.
Premium plan
Premium is a one-time purchase of $39.95 that unlocks unlimited disc tracking and all premium features including Pro Analytics, Cast Explorer, Movie Trivia, and SurroundMe, along with access to the mediaRelic offline desktop application for Windows. Premium access does not expire and is yours to keep.
An optional annual updates plan of $24.95/year provides continued movie data refreshes and new release updates. The updates plan renews automatically each year until cancelled. If you do not maintain the updates plan, you retain full access to your existing collection and the offline desktop application indefinitely — only ongoing data updates stop.
5. Billing and Payment
The one-time Premium purchase is charged once at the time of purchase. The optional annual updates plan is billed in advance once per year and renews automatically until you cancel; by subscribing to it, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring annual basis until you cancel. All payments are processed securely by Stripe.
Prices are in US dollars and may be subject to applicable taxes depending on your location.
6. Cancellation and Refunds
You may cancel the optional annual updates plan at any time through your account settings or by contacting us at support@mediarelic.com. Upon cancellation, ongoing movie data updates will stop at the end of the current annual period, but your Premium access, your existing collection, and the offline desktop application remain yours to keep.
All payments are final and non-refundable. We do not offer partial refunds for the one-time Premium purchase or for unused portions of an annual updates period.
7. Your Content
You retain ownership of the collection data you add to mediaRelic. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store and display your data for the purpose of providing the Service. We will not use your collection data for any purpose other than operating the Service.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
- Reverse engineer or scrape the Service in a way that places excessive load on our infrastructure
- Use the Service to distribute spam or malicious content
- Impersonate another person or entity
9. Third-Party Services and Content
mediaRelic displays movie metadata, poster images, and pricing data sourced from TMDb, eBay, and other third parties. This data is provided for informational purposes. We make no guarantees about its accuracy or completeness. Collection value estimates from eBay are for reference only and do not represent actual market values.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. Use of the Service is at your own risk.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, mediaRelic and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including loss of data or loss of revenue, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
12. Service Availability and Changes
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time, with or without notice. We may also update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
