1. Overview
mediaRelic ("we," "us," or "our") operates the mediaRelic web application at mediarelic.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information. By using mediaRelic, you agree to the practices described here.
2. Information We Collect
Account information
When you create an account, we collect your email address and a hashed password. We do not store plaintext passwords.
Collection data
We store the disc and movie information you add to your vault, wishlist, and any associated metadata (format, HDR type, audio, notes, tags, purchase details, etc.).
Payment information
Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number or payment details. Stripe may collect and process payment data in accordance with their own privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.
Media server data
If you connect a media server (Plex, Emby, or Jellyfin), we receive library metadata from that server to populate your vault. We do not store your server credentials beyond your browser session.
Usage data
We may log basic usage information such as API request counts for internal monitoring and abuse prevention. We do not use third-party analytics trackers.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and operate the mediaRelic service
- To process payments and manage your subscription
- To send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset)
- To respond to support requests sent to support@mediarelic.com
- To detect and prevent abuse or unauthorized access
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
4. Third-Party Services
mediaRelic uses the following third-party services to operate:
- Supabase — database and authentication hosting
- Stripe — payment processing
- Vercel — web hosting and deployment
- TMDb (The Movie Database) — movie metadata and poster images
- eBay — used disc pricing data via the eBay Finding API
Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing their data handling.
5. Data Retention
Your account and collection data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data and collection will be permanently deleted from our systems within 30 days.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Export your collection data

7. Security
We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and role-based access controls. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children's Privacy
mediaRelic is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of mediaRelic after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
