Media Servers

Connect your home media server. Your credentials are encrypted and stored securely. Import your library into your vault in one click, or use BitWatch on mobile to control playback, browse cast, and get movie facts & trivia while you watch.

Media server integration is off

The status widget, BitWatch button, and all background polling are hidden throughout the app. Toggle on above to re-enable.

Plex remote control — supported clients only

BitWatch remote control works with Plex on Android, iOS, Apple TV, Roku, smart TVs, and gaming consoles. It does not support Plex Web (browser), Plex for Windows, or Plex Media Player — those clients don't expose the playback control API.

BitWatch pause/play not working on your device?

The Plex app on your player must be set to advertise itself for remote control:

  1. Open the Plex app on the device (TV, Shield, Roku, etc.)
  2. Go to Settings → Advanced
  3. Enable "Advertise as a player"
  4. If it still doesn't respond, fully restart the device and try again

Confirmed working on: Nvidia Shield Pro, Nvidia Shield, Samsung smart TVs. Settings path may vary slightly by device.

AES-256-GCM encrypted at rest — your plex token is encrypted before it leaves your browser and stored in a form that cannot be read, even by us.

How to find your token / API key
Plex: Sign in to plex.tv/web, open Developer Tools → Network, find any request to plex.tv and look for X-Plex-Token in the request headers. Or visit plexopedia.com/plex-token.
Jellyfin: Dashboard → API Keys → Add API Key. Use your server's local IP/hostname as the URL.
Emby: Dashboard → API Keys → New API Key. Use your server's local IP/hostname as the URL.
All tokens and API keys are encrypted with AES-256-GCM on our servers before being stored in the database. Your plaintext credentials are never written to disk or logs.
